Core Strategy Development Options Survey
The Future of Your Area - Have Your Say!
What's happening now?
Thank you to the 296 people who responded to our poll. We are now looking at all the responses that we received during the consultation period, along with other evidence base documents, and putting together the Preferred Options document. This document will be available for comments in spring 2012.
All of your answers to the online poll are now available to view in the "All Comments" section at the bottom of this page. Please note that because of a difference in layout in the paper version of the poll, when responses were received by email or letter these have been entered as a separate comment for each question. This means that some people will have more than one comment against their name - however they still only submitted one questionnaire or email to us.
What's it all about?
The planning system has changed. We must now produce a Local Development Framework to guide the growth and development of our borough over the next 15 years.
We have been working on the Core Strategy, the main document which will help us to achieve our future goals. Last year we asked you what you thought were the main issues the Core Strategy should consider in the years ahead.
Between mid-March and the end of June 2011, building on what you said and the evidence we have been gathering, we asked for your views about what the future may bring for your area, how much growth is needed and where. The online poll set out the possible ways the borough could grow and gave you the opportunity to let us know which direction you think the future should take.
We are focusing on housing and employment issues. We asked you to tell us how much growth you want in your area, but also to think about what that could mean for your neighbourhood and the rest of the borough.
