Core Strategy Issues & Options Consultation
(11 November 2009 - 13 January 2010)
The Cheshire West and Chester Local Development Framework (LDF) is a series of documents which will form the basis for planning decisions in our area - so it will affect everyone!
The Core Strategy is the main LDF document and sets out the council’s vision and objectives for the borough until 2026. It needs to meet the challenges facing West Cheshire and choices need to be made on key decisions such as where development should go and what should be protected.
Topic Papers
The Topic Papers provide background information to the Core Strategy. They were subject to public consultation earlier this year and have now been amended to take the responses to that consultation exercise into account.
To explain how the original Topic Papers have been amended, we prepared a list of the changes to each Topic Paper. A PDF document listing these changes is available in the "Supporting Documents" list for each updated Topic Paper. The amendment lists do not include very minor changes such as typing errors. The paragraph explaining the purpose of the Topic Papers has been amended as the purpose of the original Topic Papers was to explore the issues, whereas the amended version provides background information to help with preparation of the Core Strategy. As such, the questions set out in the original versions are not included in the amended Topic Papers.
There have been no major amendments to the Travel and Transport Topic Paper, apart from those listed above. The Draft Settlement Hierarchy Topic Paper is now a separate report. This is significantly different from the original Topic Paper, as it now explains the methodology that has been used and the initial findings.
