Core Strategy Topic Papers - Initial Consultation
(24 July - 10 November 2009)
The Core Strategy is one of the key Local Development Framework documents and sets out the long term spatial vision and key objectives for the authority. The Core Strategy will include core policies and strategic sites, a key diagram and a monitoring and implementation framework.
The purpose of the topic papers is to bring together the key baseline information relating to specific themes and areas and to identify the key issues and questions for the Core Strategy to address. This information will then be used as a basis for the involvement of stakeholders in the production of the Core Strategy.
The initial stage of the Core Strategy was the collection of evidence for these topic papers. The information gathered in the topic papers and through stakeholder involvement and consultation was used to inform the next stage of the Core Strategy preparation – the Issues and Options report. Consultation on the Issues and Options report ended in January 2010 and we are now using the comments we received to help us prepare the Preferred Options report.
